During this holiday, that I'm having now I have read an awesome book.....it's called
The road to woodstock and it's written by Michael Lang, the main organizator of this festival. After reading this book i feel quite influenced and i really can't imagine doing so much work as Michael and his team made. It was very hard, but they managed and the festival was fab. Althought 3 people died,
more than 500 000 people had a great weekend in the town of Bethel. The action took place on fields of Max Yasgour, who was very helpful, that he allowed that and helped with food and accomodation of many people.
Some of artists who took action are: The Who; Ravi Shankar; Jefferson Airplane; Grateful Dead; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and others......
Althought Woodstock was held also in 1994 and 1999 (after 35 and 40 years), nothing wasn't as great, as 3 days of peace and music in
1969.
I'd like to recommend this book about planning so huge event and about the festival itself everyone, it is a great book!! :))
P.S. The movie about Woodstock '69 is also very successful ;)
